The holidays are all about getting together with old friends and sharing memories while looking forward to the year ahead. This year, our chapter hosted a little get together in order to bring together members of the past, present, and hopefully, future. This membership drive had a festive air with all the fixings including good food catered by 10th Ave Burrito and Surf Taco, mellow tunes, and great local brews served up by Beach Haus.

We got to see some Jersey Shore Chapter members of the past meshing with the current members as well as some new folks attracted by the good vibes and good deal, which included a Surfrider pint glass, free food, and a couple of beers on the house. Plus, one lucky attendee got an early gift in the form of a slightly used surfboard.

The result was an awesome evening full of good times with good people, and over 40 new members ready to tackle all the issues that Monmouth and Ocean County face in 2016. Things like fighting offshore oil drilling in the Atlantic, beach access issues, and runoff in the Barnegat Bay. If you missed out on the good times in December, but want to get involved in 2016, we've got plenty of volunteer opportunities coming up that we could use your help on.
