The Village of Loch Arbour, the smallest town in the state, is proposing a system of permit parking on the beach block for the two streets that lead to the beach, Euclid Ave and Elberon Ave. Coincidentally, these are the only two beach access points in town. A copy of the proposed ordinance is here. 2020-464 Permit Parking Ordinance
The ordinance, as introduced, does not mention the current pandemic so it appears that these changes would be permanent. Ordinance 2020-464 was introduced and had its first hearing on May 6, 2020 during a Zoom meeting of the Loch Arbour Mayor and Council. Its second reading and public hearing is scheduled for June 3rd at 6:30PM.
Loch Arbour was one of the towns that got a beach replenishment project awarded in 2015. Public access is part of the agreement between the federal, state, and local governments in order to get public funded sand pumped onto the beaches.
