An industry backed plastic bag bill (S2600/A3267) sits on Governor Murphy's desk right now. Please ask Governor Murphy (609-292-6000) to veto the bill. This is urgent!
The bill will do little to reduce plastic bag use, prohibits municipalities from passing stronger local laws, designates certain single use bags as "reusable" and exempts from the bill and directs bag fee funds into the general treasury rather than to pollution reduction. Not good!
Please call the Governor (609-292-6000) and ask him to veto the bill!
