FYI, Surfrider Foundation sued the Borough of Deal in the 1990's since they were ticketing surfers and claiming they had a no swimming ordinance. Unfortunately we had to go to court to show that surfing is not swimming. So if you have enjoyed a surf in Deal in the last 20 years, thank Surfrider Foundation and please consider joining.
