Groups to Rally Against Loch Arbour-Elbron Beach Replenishment
Public Money Going to Beaches with Limited Beach Access
To Notch or Not to Notch? The ACOE has provided no evidence regarding the impact of jetty notching.
Unintended Consequence for Deal Lake: Replenished sand from the Asbury Park project is already clogging the Deal Lake flume, harming fish habitat and endangering private property.
When: Friday, March 21, 5 PM
Where: Deal Lake flume/8th Avenue jetty in Asbury Park
Who: Fishermen, Surfers, Deal Lake Supporters, Coastal Advocates, and Concerned Citizen
What: Press Rally
Why: The Army Corps of Engineers is taking public comment until March 25th on their proposal to replenish beaches from Loch Arbour to Elbron. This publicly funded project would replenish beaches that provide limited public access, notch 6 existing jetties, and have negative impacts on Deal Lake and its flume.
