A Good Night for the Future of Bradley Cove

The results of last week's Asbury Park City Council election resulted in a shift of power from the incumbents to a majority of the One Asbury ticket. John Moor, Amy Quinn, and Myra Campbell of One Asbury won three of the five seats giving them control of the City Council.

Each of those candidates has actively worked against the Townhomes at Bradley Cove as opposed to the incumbents who included the townhomes in the original Waterfront Redevelopment Area plan.

This is another step in the right direction for the movement to Save Asbury Park's north end beach. Thank you to all the registered Asbury Park voters who cast a ballot for change. To preserve this area we need the City Council to provide leadership, the developer, iStar, to be open to negotiate, and the resources of the Monmouth County Parks department. The majority victory of the One Asbury ticket signals a convergence of these three factors.
