Thank You & Happy Holidays!

Jersey-Shore_VertFirst, thank you to our new and longstanding members who support our work protecting the ocean, waves, and beaches along the Jersey Shore. Your are the Jersey Shore Chapter and do the work needed to keep our ocean and beaches accessible, clean, and free from unsustainable development. Your support is needed now more than ever.

Second, thank you to our volunteers that make the Chapter run. Without you all, we could not run our programs and campaigns. A special thanks to all the volunteers that have helped with Sandy cleanups in Belmar, Union Beach, and Ortley Beach.

Third, thank you to our supporters who keep us in bussiness. Just this last month we have had an outpouring of support.

Heather MacConnell ran a grassroots fundraising effort with the Jersey Shore Chapter this summer. She designed and produced the handmade Drop of Water gemstone pendant. She worked with supportive retailers on LBI to raise over $1000 for Surfrider's work on LBI. Prior to Sandy, the donation was planned to go to Alliance for Living Ocean's cap recycling program. In light of the post-Sandy needs, the donation was made to ALO's Sandy recovery efforts. Thank you Heather and My Girl is Water Jewelry.

w4wWaves for Water has purchased safety equipment to ensure volunteers working on Ortley Beach were properly protected. W4W has been doing amazing work here in NJ and NY. They do relief work all over the world and although we never thought we would need them here at home, we are grateful for all their hard work.

fddf2eed-3835-42cc-95ab-11a76c0ff436 We would also like to send a huge thanks out to Regine Flimlin and Enrique Wegel who made a generous donation to the Jersey Shore Chapter. 50% of their $1000 donation will toward keeping the Asbury Park boardwalk green, 25% to promote beach access, and 25% to our Sick Surfer campaign.
