We've know for a while the Monmouth County Recreation Commissioners have been working behind the scenes on a vision for a park the includes the north end beach of Asbury Park. This past week the tri-City News interview Recreation Commissioner Mike Harmon who outlined the County's vision of a regional oceanfront park. And what a vision it is!
The park would go from jetty to jetty encompassing all of Asbury's northern most beach and go west to include the Deal Lake shore; 8 acres in all. Their vision does not stop at only protecting the Bradley Cove tract, last coastal open space in Monmouth County, they would like to run recreational and youth educational programs from the park. This is a vision we all can get behind.
