In the last week there has been significant progress made toward saving one of the last open spaces on the Jersey shore, Asbury's north end beach.
1. The Asbury Park City Council sent a letter to the Monmouth County Board of Chosen Freeholders asking them to consider purchasing the Bradley Cove lot as dedicated parkland.
2. The Waterfront Redevelopment Plan Advisory Committee (power point of presentation) has recommended the Townhomes at Bradley Cove be removed and that land be dedicated to open space and recreation. The Committee will be taking written comments until September 30th. For details on submitting comments click here.
3. North Beach Rally & Symposium is planned for October 22nd at Asbury Tower, 11am- 1 pm. Citizens for Oceanfront Preservation will be hosting a rally & symposium that will include community leaders, state-wide environmental groups, open space experts from the County and State, as well as local, County and State politicians. Save the date for this important event for Asbury's north beach.
