The rules have somehow changes, it use to be that anyone owning ocean front property would do so at their own risk. The consiquence to building so close to the unpredictable ocean was that if your home was lost due to storms that land was devalued and you were paid for that parcel without being able to rebuild. Today most oceanfront home owners want protection at the tax payers cost. This is wrong, there are no garrentees it's part of what goes along with that oppertunity.

Please apply for this application! We love Asbury, have very fond memories and continue to do so for over 50 years!

The momentum is there for this wonderful city to bounce back! We have not given up hope. There is no better place to be on a weekend in the summer or any other part of the year!

This is great! You often only hear about conserving rainwater out west.. glad to see a legitimate movement for this on Jersey. I try to talk about conserving rain water as much as possible.

Loveladies in Long Beach Township LBI NJ

What is going on up there? It stands as one of NJ most "Private" beaches. It must be open up to all, I realize there are people there with deep pockets but who cares this needs to be more than simply addressed, action needs to start taking shape. I realize how it is easy to become complacent but this should be one of Surfriders main concerns and needs to be actively and aggressively gone after. Let them know we will not let them off the hook. I think the police department is somewhat to blame because there is no parking and Long Beach Blvd is off limits to parking so it becomes private. Maybe we need them to put curbs in like most towns have that way it opens itself up to parking.

I live 2 blocks from the entrance to North Beach, and I couldn't be more upset about the prospect of putting up ANOTHER building??!! Is there some shortage of empty condo buildings in Asbury Park?? Seems that there are plenty of other areas that could be rebuilt rather than destroying what little open space we're desperately trying to hold on to. To say nothing of the fact that our dogs, fisherman and surfers are the hardest hit by this selfish decision to build!

Perhaps they could finish one of the empty structures that already exists instead of leveling our beautiful beach!

We don't need more homes. We need our beach.

Heard many months ago that plans to build housing on the north beach had been scrapped. Was devastated to learn that they have been resurrected. Please consider our future!
