A Victory and a Call to Action!

Liberty Natural Gas Withdraws Application: Announced on April 24th, effective April 20th (just in time for Earth Day!), the Liberty LNG natural gas port proposed for off the New Jersey and New York coastline has been officially withdrawn, and the federal government has terminated all work on the proposal.

 

Seismic Surveys Threaten Marine Life in the Atlantic - First Steps Towards Oil Drilling Off Our Coast! This Friday, the U.S. Department of Interior (DOI) will be holding a public hearing in Atlantic City after announcing their decision to move forward with seismic exploration in search of oil in the Atlantic Ocean.

Take Action!

Spend this Friday Afternoon taking a stand for your ocean.  All members of the public are encouraged to attend the hearing and voice their opposition to Seismic Exploration in the Atlantic!

Come Early!  Opponents to Seismic Exploration and Offshore Drilling will be holding a Press Conference at 12 Noon in front of the Atlantic City Convention Center.

Gary Goeke, Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, at GGEIS@boem.gov or call at (504) 736-3233.  Make sure to mention that you want a speaking spot at the Atlantic City Hearing on April 27th!
